Venstre wants to turn Trondheim into a greener and more environmental friendly city. Our main focus is therefore an environmental friendly city development, and we want to preserve important recreational areas and work for more green areas in the city, e.g. a new park at Leütenhaven.
The big citys most important challenge is the amount of traffic. Venstre wants to reduce the need for using a car in Trondheim. A city development which limits the need for transportation is the main key in solving this problem. We also need to improve the citys bus and tram network, and make it cheaper. Having more people choosing environmental friendly means of transportation will help in reducing the amount of greenhouse gases.

The educational system gives us a foundation for a free and open society through promotion of knowledge and values. The school is also important in reaching our aim to integrate people of different social and cultural backgrounds.
Venstre wants to strengthen the public school, especially through increasing the respect towards the teacher. If we want to give our children the school they deserve, we need to make the teachers better. Knowledgeable and secure teachers make knowledgeable and secure learners. Therefore we want to introduce a year of competence for teachers, which means that after a certain number of years a teacher may take one year off with full pay to get more education.

During the last four years it has always been Venstres goal to strengthen the child welfare. Child welfare needs to be based on good competence, and it demands trust in those who have got a difficult but important job. Strengthening child welfare will also be the best way to prevent drug use and crime.
The citys drug addicts deserve to get their basic needs covered, and additionally Venstre wants to give them a better life through education and work training.
Our pensioners deserve good care. The goal must be that they always feel secure and receive health and care services of high quality. These services also need to be individualised. Its important that one is able to choose what kind of care one needs, and also to be able to choose who will be best to provide these services.
